Dueto the rise in world population, there has been an increase in demandfor sources of energy to serve the rising population. Also, increaseduse of fossil fuel has raised [tautology] the rate of environmentalpollution. Due to these two factors, there is a need for us to comeup with new sources of energy which are less harmful to theenvironment. Biofuel is an example of an energy source that isenvironmentally friendly and can serve the same purpose as fossilfuel does. Biofuels are environment-friendly since they reduce theproduction of greenhouse gasses (Cambero &amp Sowlati,2016).Convention on Biological Diversity should, therefore, encourageconversion of land into biofuel production areas. CBD should ensureto use the land that is almost useless so as to avoid the destructionof the productive land. Biofuel production will take place if thereare enough plants used in biofuel production. An example of theplants used in biofuel production is the Jatropha plants. If we usethe unproductive land to plant such crops, we will conserve thediversity. Increased biofuel plants will also help clean ourenvironments due to the absorption of carbon dioxide emitted fromindustries. Therefore, CBD should encourage the use of land forbiofuel production (Cambero &amp Sowlati, 2016).

Embracingthe conversion of land for biofuel production will have many benefitsto the people of China. Firstly, the growing China populationincreases the fuel demand. The available fossil fuel is not enoughfor China and shortly, there might be a huge problem since theavailable fossil fuel will not be sufficient for the Chinesepopulation. By producing biofuel, the population will have enoughfuel for daily activities. Through biofuel production, the Chinesecommunity will have moved a step further in the reduction ofenvironmental pollution (Li &amp Zhang, 2014). China will be able toprevent pollution since combustion of biofuel produces fewer amountsof greenhouse gasses, which is different from the burning of fossilfuel. Biodiesel also produces no sulfide gasses which is very commonon gasoline and other fossil fuel. Therefore, by allowing the use ofland for biofuel production, China will have a cleaner environment.Also, China should use its land for biofuel production since thereare a lot of idle lands that needs to be made productive. An exampleof these abandoned lands are in Guangxi Shanxi (Li &amp Zhang,2014). These lands can be productive through biofuel productionthrough plantation of plants used as sources of fuel

Internationally,CBD the conversion of land into biofuel production areas has severaladvantages. Firstly, converting the land into biofuel productionsites will increase the amount of biofuel produced. The rise inbiofuel production will help decrease the use of fossil fuel whichhas great harm to the global environment. We have learned thatbiofuel produces fewer greenhouse gasses than fossil fuel and otherharmful gasses such as sulfur dioxide. By embracing biofuelproduction, we shall have we shall eliminate all the problem broughtabout by fossil fuel pollution such as global warming and respiratorydiseases (Liu, et.al, 2015). Also, by using lands for biofuelproduction, the economic status of most countries will improve.Agriculture will be the sector that will benefit from this initiativesince biofuel involves the use of plant materials. When farmersembrace the cultivation of plants used in biofuel production, theywill have a guaranteed income since the demand for fuel is continuingto rise. Therefore, farmers will have increased income which laterleads to improvement of living standards. Improvement of livingstandards will, in turn, improve country’s economy leading tooverall development. Fossil fuel will help improve agricultureindustry which is important in reducing the difference betweenagriculture and industries (Liu, et.al, 2015).

Fromthe paper, we have seen the reasons as to why we should embrace theuse of lands for biofuel production. Biofuel would lead to areduction in global warming due to the reduced production ofgreenhouse gasses. Biofuel would also reduce pollution since, inbiofuel combustion, there is no release of sulfur dioxide gas whichis present in fossil fuel. Biofuel production will be of an advantageof to farmers and the countries at large regarding income. Whenfarmers plant the crops used in biofuel production, they will beguaranteed of a market since there is an increased demand for fuel.CBD should encourage the use of lands for biofuel production sincebiofuel has a positive impact on the environment
