Impacts of IT on Enterprises

Impactsof IT on Enterprises
Thepurpose of this research is to assess the effects of InformationTechnology (IT) on enterprises. For a very long time, businessorganizations have had to incorporate the use of modern IT in theirday-to-day operations. Although it is recommended to be responsive tothe latest technological innovations, some business organizationshave not embraced IT(Fitzsimmons & Fitzsimmons, 2013). However, the use of modern IT in operations has benefited manyenterprises in different ways(Ward & Peppard, 2016).First, IT has helped in the reduction of operation costs because itrequires limited human resources. Besides, IT has helped in theimprovement of the quality of production. Lastly, IT has played asignificant role in the increment of profitability because it notonly reduces costs of production but also helps in enhancing theefficiency in service delivery to the satisfaction of clients(Mithas & Rust, 2016).
Toconduct this research, the study will be designed to respond to thefollowing research question: What are the impacts of IT onenterprises? This is the main question that the research will seek toaddress. Therefore, when designing the research, all the activitieswill be done to effectively respond to this question(Venkatesh, Thong & Xu, 2012).Meaning, the entire research will be based on the application of ITby business enterprises, but narrowed down to its effects. If thisis done, the researchers will be appropriately guided on how to carryout the research so as to get the most relevant answers to the mainproblem. IT is a broad area whose study should be narrowed down to aspecific component for which detailed research can be conducted(Waser, 2012).
Thestudy is quite significant because it is based on an area that hasnot been fully exploited by researchers. Despite conducting a lot ofstudies in the field of IT, there remains a wide gap on whatcontributions the IT has been bringing to the enterprises(Tran, Le Ngoc Thanh & Phuong, 2013).This is exactly what the study will seek to fill up. At the sametime, the research will be expected to produce reliable findings thatwill help in providing adequate knowledge in the field of IT. Itsresults will be used by scholars who are interested in conductingfurther research in the field of IT(Prajogo & Olhager, 2012).Finally, the study results will be quite significant to thepolicy-makers who are responsible for the formulation, adoption, andimplementation of IT-related policies in the society. The adoptionof such informed and research-based policies can play a significantrole in improving the use of IT in the enterprises(Davenport, 2013).
Inconclusion, this is an invaluable research that has lots ofcontributions to make to the field of IT. With its leading researchquestion, the study will be designed and conducted using awell-organized methodology. Its findings will be relied upon to fillthe missing gap and present reliable findings to be used by futureresearchers and policy makers who are interested in transforming IT(Schwalbe, 2015).Through this research, new methodologies will be applied anddisseminated to other researchers to apply in their studies(Shaw, 2012).So, it is a useful study that has a lot of benefits not only to theresearcher but other scholars and like-minded IT stakeholders.
